When I plug in my digital camera using a USB connection,
I get a menu asking me to pick the application to
download the pictures from the camera to the pc (running
windows xp). Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition and
Readiris are one of the options listed. It would be fine
if they were installed on my computer but I have
uninstalled them some time ago. How can I get rid of them
from showing in that menu screen?

TomL,

Open Registry Editor [run Regedit.exe] and goto:
[Backup the key first]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\ShowPicturesOnArrival
In the right-pane, look for the software entries which you want to remove. Right-click and delete

The reference is also found here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\Handlers
The software entry should be there in the subkey [Handlers\software entry]
