Select one cell, move mouse multiple cells are selected not a F8 i

I am unable to use Excel 2000. When I select one cell and then move my mouse
multiple cells are selected I’m not able to click anywhere else within the
Excel program. I don’t get any error messages and have to close Excel trough
Task Manager (end the task). This is not an F8 issue and now another use is
having the same problem. Office is up to date and patched. I have tried
uninstalling and then reinstalling the program witch hasn’t helped. Dose
anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

Its a faulting wheel on your mouse..try whacking it a few times (the wheel),
if this doesn't fix it, uninstall the driver and re-install or check the
manufacturers web site and see if there is an updated one.
