hey i am trying to install win2K on a computer at home and
every thing gets find until i have finished the DOS
section. it inspects my computer hardware, then after the
part where it asks if you want to install a third party
raid driver it tells me that setup cannot detect what kind
of computer it is? and then i have to provide a disk from
the makers,as its second hand i dont have this disk? is
this a hardware problem or has win2k not setup correctly?

Thanks if anyone can help. hope im not too brief.

Greetings --

Most likely, the Win2K installation CD doesn't include drivers for
your specific model of SCSI or IDE controller. You'll need to get
them from the controller's/motherboard's manufacturer. Very early in
the boot process, just after having booted from the Win2K CD, the
screen will display the words to the effect: "Setup is examining your
system." Press <F6> when this happens, and have the Win2K-specific
drivers for your SCSI or IDE controller available on a floppy disk.
