seek cursor on win media player 11 or any other player

when I use win or any other media player either to play a music cd, or a
video clip on win XP and I advance the seek cursor to advance the video or
song, the volume will skyrocket to its maximum and I have to manually
decrease it I do not think this is a normal operation how if any thing can be
done about this? I am under the understanding that the volume should not rise
unless you increase it manually.
Thank you

I have not upgraded to WMP11 due to many problems encountered.
But, in WMP10 you can go to View>Enhancements>Crossfading and tick
Auto Volume Leveling, which should solve it. Hope this helps :~)
