Seech Recognition microphone

I have tried 3 mikes of varying quality I have here and none works
with Windows Soeech Recognition (I have checked for mute, etc.)
Do only headsets make this option functional?
I have a disabled right arm and this would make life sooo much easier.

I'm using the cheap $8 Logitech one from Walmart, and it works great...

Is your microphone set as the default recorder in Control Panel > Sound

Recording ? If so, is the volume level slider pushed up in the

microphone's Properties > Levels ?

Also, there's a 'microphone boost' checkbox.
