Security

How do I clear my security settings or change them back to the default?

I screwed up my security and now I can't import my data. I need to set it
so that I can give myself access to import data. I know, I thought I
understood, but obviously I didn't and now I'm in a heck of a mess.

Please help!

It depends on version and how you implemented security.

If you are using 2002 or 2003 and used the wizard, check the folder where the mdb is located. You'll find a file with the same name, but a bak extension. This is a backup of your mdb, before security was implemented. Just rename it to have a mdb extension.

Search your computer for *.mdw files (include hidden and system folders). Rename each one that you find. Open Access, and then open your renamed file.

If you are using a different version, or you didn't use the wizard, post back with more details.
