Norton
causes me immense problems, cannot get into my e-mail, have tried helpdesk
without success. Am thinking of upgrading to Vista but not if all these
problems, can anyone recommend a better antivirus compatible with Windows?

Am running Norton Internet Security 2007 - seems extremely stable and does a
superb job under vista.

Don't use Norton home products. You're not forced to. I wouldn't let them
near any system here.

There is no such thing as total inbuilt security, but there is also the
issue of monopoly. If they included everything every 3rd party software
vendor provided, what kind of howl would that create?

There are good alternative to Norton products. Vista has a firewall, for AV
there is Avast and AVG (both free) and other good paid programs.
