security updates

I have downloaded security updates as suggested by MS via
internet mail. I keep getting emails suggesting
updates. How do I know if updates were installed when I
went through the installation process and which were
installed? What should I do with these additional
requests from Microsoft? How do I know if I am up to
date on the security patches?

Also, I have heard of system problems after these updates
are installed. What is the scoop?

*sigh*
Microsoft does not send patches via email.
These were viruses.
Please scan with your antivirus software and/or get an antivirus software
immediately.
I also suggest turning on your ICF (Internet Connection Firewall) - if you
don't know how.. Well..
Better yet - go here and read up:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/

And never EVER take your updates from an email..
Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

I gurantee that you will have system problems after
installing these updates,go to your local computer store
and buy nortons anti-virus, update it, and then scan your
computer TODAY. And please unplug from the internet until
you clean your computer.
