Security tab

My security tab is missing from properties on a folder. I've tried
the WinExpl / Folder Options / View / unchecking the simple file
sharing, to no avail. I'm using XP Pro, and some of the fixes
describe changing settings under this security tab. What gives?

Thanks. It feels so much better after stopping hitting my head on the
