security tab missing

Hi all. I realise my security tab of folders and files are missing. My
"simple file sharing" under folder options is unchecked and my partition is
of ntfs. The funny part was i was checking through my security tab of 1 of my
folders and out of a sudden my security tab go missing. Is my pc infected
with virus of my system corrupted? thks in advance.
