security tab on directory folder properties?

I received the following instructions for some sqlserverce
configuration.....;
*********
To secure the file system directory manually on Windows 2000
Start Windows Explorer.
Right-click the C:\program files\Microsoft SQL Server CE 2.0\Server
directory. Click Properties, and then click the Security tab. If you do not
see the Security tab, your server has a FAT file system and you will need to
convert it to NTFS. SQL Server CE replication or RDA works with FAT file
systems, but it is recommended that you use NTFS for greater security. For
information about converting the file system to NTFS, see the Windows
documentation.
********
but i don't have a security tab although i am using NTFS.
What am I missing here?
thanks,

In xp pro -- in explorer, tools, folder options, view tab, uncheck: use
simple file sharing.
In xp home, boot to safe mode and do the same.
Now the security tab will show.

For XP Home, you can work around the need for Safe Mode.

How Do I Get the Security Tab in Properties - XP Home (makes the Security
tab appear outside of Safe Mode)

bless your heart purplehaz !!!
what a difference a day makes.....and some great, simple advice. I forgot to
mention I am using XP Pro. I unchecked simple file sharing and I see the
security tab !!
Subscribing to 100 newsgroups and trying to do Web Services, C#, Pocket PC,
VB.net, SQL Server xx, best practices, etc, etc.....sometimes I don't even
know the fundamentals.
Thank you !

Thank you very much for replying Doug. I was remiss in not mentioning I am
using XP Pro and purplehaz's advice above was just what I needed;
In xp pro -- in explorer, tools, folder options, view tab, uncheck: use
simple file sharing

But it is good to know it can be done in XP Home as well.

thanks again.

Note that disabling simple sharing is more than just a UI change. It also
changes the system's security model from "simple" mode (where all external
users are treated as Guest) to the complex model (where external users are
authenticated separately). So make sure you know what you're doing and set
your ACLs properly. The Simple model provides additional protection: People
on the network cannot access your private files, even if they somehow manage
to guess your password.
