I have a machine with Windows 2000 pro on it. When it starts up it hangs at "Applying Security Settings" for about 5 minutes before the logon screen comes up. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks,

Is it connected to a network? Check the ipconfig/all. Does everything point
to the server-IP?

Yes. It is connected to the network and everything points to the proper servers.

Does that mean that DNS is pointing to your server-IP as well?

Yes. The machines are setup with automatic configuration for IP and DNS.

It's hard to follow this thread if you don't quote.

Can you give us the ipconfig/all from a client please? How many nics in the
server? How do you connect to the internet?
