I POSTED A MESSAGE SAYING PLEASE HELP..I WAS WONDERING IF
SOMEONE CAN HELP ME..I CAN GET TO WEBSITES FINE BUT MY
SECURITY SETTINGS ARE MESSED UP...I GET THE ERROR MESSAGE
SAYING YOUR CURRENT SECURITY SETTINGS PROHIBIT RUNNING
ACTIVE X AND THE PAGE MAY NOT DISPLAY PROPERLY..IM USING
DSL WITH 2 PCS NETWORKED..THE OTHER PC IS FINE AND I MADE
SURE THE SECURITY SETTINGS WERE EXACTLY THE SAME ON THE
OTHER PC AS THIS ONE..I DISABLED NORTONS BECAUSE THAT WAS
ONE PROBLEM IT WASNT ALLOWING ME TO DO ANYTHING..WHAT
ELSE CAN I DO OR WHAT SETTINGS DO I NEED TO CHECK OR
UNCHECK SO I CAN BROWSE FURTHER INTO THE SITE..SAY I GO
TO AOL.COM AND I TYPE MY USERNAME/PASS TO CHECK MY
EMAIL..WELL IT DOES THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED I CANT
DO ANYTHING ..ANY HELP SOMEONE CAN GIVE ME WILL BE
GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Meghan, don't type in all caps it's considered rude and shouting and some
won't read messages typed this way.
As regards to your problem, is this of any assistance:


In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:

Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
