After removing a Win2000 Pro machine from a domain I want to revert the
security policy back to the out of the box settings. How can this be done?

More than likely. You can use the secedit command as described in KB link, to reset
"defined" security settings back to default. Keep in mind that when you unjoin a
machine from a domain that its Local Security Policy will become the effective
security policy as policies inherited from the domain will no longer apply. ---
