Hey guys

you know how that security center icon appears in the system tray after
installing SP2

on every other machine at my work I have told it that I have antivirus
software running and turn it off and this works fine it goes away

but on 2 laptops whenever I do this it goes away but as soon as I restart it
comes back again telling me I am not protected

both laptops are the same model compaq nx9110

Is this just an issue with these laptops?
or is there something eles in windows I can disable

Thanks

Start>Run>services.msc>ok

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.

There is also a Group Policy setting available to disable the
Security Center (Start>Run>gpedit.msc>ok).You can use a Group Policy
setting to centrally manage the Security Center feature for computers in
a Windows domain. The Turn on Security Center (Domain PCs only) policy
setting is accessed in the Group Policy Object Editor in the Computer
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Security
Center node. From there you can disable it also.

Disable the security center service. Go to Start | Run | services.msc
and disable it. It's really just a nag for those who don't bother to
keep up on AV definitions, the firewall and automatic updates.
