Security Center - firewall

Hi,
Over the past few weeks I tried out numerous firewalls before deciding
on ZoneAlarm Pro. Now the Security Center states "At least one of the
firewalls installed on your computer is currently ON." I can shut
ZoneAlarm down or uninstall it and the Security Center still states that
one of the firewalls install in ON.

I searched the Registry and removed all references to other firewalls
and that did not help. Could anyone advise how to fix this so that the
Security Center will state that either the Windows firewall or ZoneAlarm
is turned on and advise when no firewall is turned on.

Thank you so much,
Georgia

It looks as if you didn't uninstall one of those firewall properly and there
are references to it in the Registry.

I would visit the sites of all of those firewall to find out how to remove
them completely. This can be more involved that just using the firewall's
uninstall option or Add/Remove Programs.

I would turn off the Windows firewall ( you shouldn't ever have two software
firewalls running), I would uninstall ZA, then install one of the firewalls
you tried again and remove it completely. Do the same with any other firewall
you installed.

Then you can reinstall ZA Pro, and the problem should be fixed.
