Firewall

I am running XP on a desktop. I am having limited access to the internet. I
have checked the firewall security. It states that I have a firewall running
but I'm sure that I've shut all firewalls off. However, Windows is stating
that a firewall is running and so the security GUI displays a firewall is ON.
I have only tried two other firewalls and I think I've removed them. One was
zonealarm and the other was a personal window firewall, or something like
that.
I have also shut off the ICS but to no avail. Is there a hosts file or
something that is hosed? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also I have tried to look for ways to determine what firewall is running
but have been unsuccessful.

Are you running WinXP SP2? If so, it's probably the [Start > Settings >
Control Panel >] Windows Firewall. Leave it enabled: You should NOT be
connected to the internet or any networks without a firewall enabled.
