Security alerts for firewall on each reboot

I installed SP2 on XP and really have not had any problems with it.
However, on each reboot, I get an alert about the firewall that I have
disabled because I have a third party firewall running on a router
computer.

This alert happens in spite of the fact that I have set the option
that I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself (which gets
cleared on each reboot...) and under "Change the way that Security
Center..." I have disabled the alert me setting for the firewall...
that setting also gets reset each time I reboot!

The setting for AV software holds its setting (disabled) on each
reboot...

Any suggestions or ideas as to stop this constant alerting?

TIA!

The router firewall or one on a different computer doesn't protect this
computer. Download Zone Alarm or use the built in Windows firewall.

Disabled the security center service in services.msc. As you have
discovered the do not alert setting doesn't always stick.

Thanks for that idea, I had seen that somewhere else as well. too bad
that this is the direction I might have to go to fix this issue. I
have seen this non-sticky Security Center settings issue on no less
than 5 computers in the last week.
