security alert problem

everytime I go into a secure site, a security alert pops up telling that the site certificate is invalid, I tried to correct this
via internet advance setting without success, any ideas?????

after tinkering with problem I found that that my clock was set for year 2005 vice 2004 making certain site certificate not yet valid
