Security Accounts manager init failed

G'Day All,
My Win2K server displays this error on bootup:
Lsass.exe-system error
Security accounts manager initialization failed because of the following
error. Directory service cannot start.
Error status:0xc00002e1. Please click OK to shut down this system and reboot
into directory services restore mode, check the event log for more detailed
information."

I click OK and reboot the system-->pressed F8--> Select Directory Services
Restore Mode (WIN2K).

Help. What to do here.

Thanks much. I did do a search on the Support.microsoft site but did not
find anything. Maybe my choice of words was inadequate. Thanks though.
