secure sites

I have had the problem since April that I cannot access
any secure sites in Internet explorer, or use MSN
messenger/explorer. Can anyone help?

get to the internet just not any secure sites I cannot
get in to e-mail on msn either
 
I think that it is something to do with security,
something somewhere has been messed up and I don't know
what to do. I have McAfee Internet security and I tried
uninstalling it to see if it would work but it still
doesn't. I can access secure sites/email etc on Netscape
but not IE.
