secure site works in original IE6 but hangs in IE6 sp1a

Our company uses a secure web site to do credit checks
for customers, the site works fine for 90% of the process
but hangs at a certain point. But only on PCs with PCs
with Internet Explorer 6 SP1a. Pcs with the original IE6
and even IE6 SP1 work fine.
I have spoken with the developers of the site but they
claim not to be able to reproduce the problem so can't
help.
The connection through to the internet is through MS ISA
server but as earlier versions of IE6 work I don't
suspect the firewall.
Does anyone know what is difference is in IE6 SP1a that
could cause the problem?
Thanks

Roll-back SP1a and it probably resolve the issue
There is a fix for SP1a which I used. but I forgot where I found it

Yes it does use java applets.
FYI I have also applied a hotfix referenced in Q811383,
this appears to be working but with mixed results, i.e.
occasionally IE stops responding when first entering the
secure site, try it 5 mins later and it's fine.
This may be a bug in the hotfix, or a spurious error.
I am trying the hotfix on other machines to see if I can
repeat either problem.

Thanks Robear,
I will try installing the Java VM, I must admit it's
something I should have thought of as we use another
internet application the needs the VM but on a different
set of users.
I've also installed hotfix referenced in Q811383 which is
having some results although the browser is now
occasionally hanging when first entering the secure site
I'll keep you posted

Then I'm afraid I can't help. Hopefully someone else will wander in.
