Secure site access

I have the Administrator account in Home Edition, and
everything was working fine...then it wasn't. Suddenly I
can do longer access internet sites that check for
certain parameters. These sites appear to be secure
sites, like where one would enter credit card information
for an online purchase, or pay bills online. I've treid
to reset the Administrator status, confirmed that all my
Internet Security settings under Tools were set at the
Default settings, and finally created a new Administrator
account. I was able to pay my bills from this new
account, but now it's acting up.

I sure hope someone can help me so I can do some online
shopping today! :)

Thanl You!

Since the original post, I have tried to access the
Microsoft e-mail type Support service. I could not get in
through Passport or to enter my Product Identification to
get access to the support. This was from the "new"
Administrator account.

Also, I went out looking for Microsoft Updates. Under my
original Administrator account I was told there were no
new updates. Under my new account I found and installed 9
updates, none Critical. The updates did not fix my
problem.

It took a bit of work, but I finally got it fixed! Yeah!!!

Since I also have Norton Internet Security (NIS) and NAV
on the system, I went to the Symantec site and found
exactly what I needed. "Norton Internet Security 2003
does not load on restart after applying the 6.04 patch
using LiveUpdate". I hadn't realized that was what had
caused the problem, but decided to try the suggested
fixes anyway. In the end I backed up My Documents,
deleted NIS and NAV and then reinstalled them. Everything
works fine. I can once again shop online and pay my
bills, I'm recognised as the Administrator account, and
my site is secure, all is well with the world! URL:

Thank you to those who offered suggestions, and good l
luck to those of you still struggling. I hope this post
will help you.
