Secure A Process

G

Gaara

Hello all !

2003 Domain
Xp Sp2 Clients

I have 3 Services that my av use's (Trend Micro) and each service create a
process.

couple of days ago we suspect that one of our stations had a virus, so we
ran a virus scan. our clients had an overload on their systems due to the
scan, and killed the av processes from the taskmanager.

in a response to that a tried to use GPO to secure the av services to run
under Domain Admin Account and Secure the service acl as well.
that causes that the users cannot stop the av service but they are still can
kill it from the task manager because they are local admin on theire stations.

So, My question is there any way to secure these processes ?

Many thx, Ran

Don't know the answer to your question.

But if you haven't already done so, try to reduce impact of scanning on your
users by taking the following steps on their workstations.

1) Delete all non-current users accounts, and their Documments.

2) Have all users restrict Temporary Internet files to 10Mbyte, and delete
all.

3) My Computer... Properties... Advanced... Performance settings....

Visual Effects - Adjust for best performance
Advanced - set Processor scheduling and Memory usage to prioritise
applications.
