Section break - Headers and Footers

I am using Word 2003. On my document I have a graphic within a table placed in the middle of the page. On this page I enter an Even Section Break. The text on the next page is nothing special, plain text some small graphics and it continues like this throughtout the many pages. At times I may end with a graphic within a table again, as in the first page. I have set the document to Different Odd and Even, Different first page and a gutter margin. As I don't want H&F to appear on the graphic page(s) and I need the page numbering to be on the outside margins

My problem is: When I am in Print Layout view, I sometimes can't get the page numbering to start at a particular number, (as the doucment is continuing from another file). I would like this document to start page numbering from 88, and it starts at 90, I change it to start at 89, and it's still out of whack. When I look at the document in Print Preview, I have a blank page after the graphic, but I don't see it in Print Layout view

I believe the problem may be with the Even page break, I have tried putting in an Odd page break, but I have done so much now to the document I am not sure what is happening. Why the blank page. Any help out there. And thanks if you do reply.

When you insert an Even Page break, you are telling Word you want the next
page to be an even page even if the current page is even. If you start at 88
(an even page) and insert an Even Page break, then the next page will be
page 90. Word will insert a blank page 89 on the back of 88. This page will
not display in Print Layout view, but it will display in Print Preview if
you are displaying a two-page spread.

Keep in mind, too, that when you choose "Different odd and even," Word
assumes that you plan to duplex the document, and it will always format an
even page as a left-hand (verso) page and an odd-page as a right-hand
(recto) page. If you try to start with an even page, Word will insert a
blank odd page ahead of that page for the reverse side. You might have
better luck starting with page 87, putting nothing on that page except the
Even Page break. If the previous file already contains a page 87, just
discard the extra blank one.
