I've been using winxp for 2 years or so, and this problem never seems to go
away. When a program has an error and closes, windows will usually give you
that error message with a red stop sign and then the error reporting dialog
box. But sometimes, it decides to close the program without any further
notice, the program closes and there is no error message or error reporting
message. This happens usually with AOL instant messenger, but also with some
other programs. Is there some way I can make windows stop trying to deceive
me and thinking maybe the program was never started? This version of windows
also seems to not like system restore, as it has never let me create or use
restore points
