Having just switched to windows vista and set up a primary e mail account and
a secondary account I am having problems receiving mail into the secondary
account although there is no problems with the primary one. I get a message
saying 5.1.2 Bad destination host "DNS Hard error looking up tiscali.co.uk
(MX): NXDomain

Please can anyone make sense of this for me

Looks like it is having problems looking up the email provider you are
sending the
messages to in order to decide which way to send it.

If tiscali.co.uk is your secondary email provider, see if these instructions
help:

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/email/oe_settings_start.html

They were written for Outlook Express, but should also work under Windows
Mail if they don't call for the HTTP protocol.

Thanks for responding Robert but it is just a case of not receiving e mails
to the secondary account (which is tiscali also) I can send them ok, I have
checked all the settings and everything seems fine I am so baffled

Thanks Robert but the problem is I can send e mails from the secondary
account (tiscali) but I can not receive them although I have been through all
the set up and can find nothing wrong

Hi Gary
All I get back is The following message to (e-mail address removed) was
undeliverable The reason for the problem: 5.1.2 Bad Destination Host "DNS
hard error looking up tiscali.co.uk (MX) NX Domain
Thanks
Linda

No I did not have to do anything the e mails just came through surprisingly

Best regards
Linda

That makes sense. The error message sounded like a temporary DNS
lookup failure, something beyond the control of Windows Mail.
