I have installed a second hard drive. The system
recognizes the drive in device manager but no drive letter
is assigned. It may not be formatted. Any thoughts on
how I format the drive and get the system to assign a
drive letter?

Thanks in advance,
Stacy

Right click My Computer,, Click Manage, Click Disk Management, -- you can
setup the drive there.

Hi Stacy,

No drive letters will be assigned until the drive is partitioned. Start/run
diskmgmt.msc, use this utility to partition the drive. Right-click a free
space on the drive to start.

Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive.

THat will probably show 'unallocated space'. If so, right click in that,
take Create a partition (use all the drive, or do it in two sections, to
taste) and go on to Format. You can then r-click in the partitions,
and Change drive letter if the ones assigned are inconvenient
