Google Groups archives most of the NG's.
It will take some toying around on your end by using the Advanced Search
option, however you may get what you desire.

Chezzy, two things need to happen:

1. Make sure your system doesn't delete news messages you have already
downloaded before you want them deleted. My OE had a default set for
deletion 5 days after downloading. You can disable this entirely, or choose
the number of days you prefer (up to 999, at least).
Tools>>Options>>Maintenance

2. If you want to search further back in time, you need to download more
headers. Since this group averages around 1000 messages per day, many of us
max out the download setting at 1000. Tools>>Options>>Read.

chezzy bezy;
OE/Message/Watch Conversation. A pair of Eye Glasses appears next to the
watched message. Or, left click next to the message. Eye Glasses again.

Hitting Ctrl + H will Show replies to my messages. Cuts out all messages
not related to ones you post.
