Searching for synchronisation tool

Andreas Gress

Hi,

in order to synchronize a desktop and a laptop I am searching for a
synchronisation tool for e.g. bookmarks, documents.
Does anybody know a tool (freeware would be nice, but shareware is also
ok if the costs are not too high) that is able to synchronize a local
folder on a computer to a ftp-server?

Hint: running OS is WinXP Home on both computers with permanent internet
access. ftp-server is available and provided by an ISP.

Regards and thanks in advance

Take a look at Syncback, freeware (or the SE version, payware). Should
do what you want.

Hi Andi

Microsoft actually has a good synctool called "Synctoy1.0" - find it
here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...54-c975-4814-9649-cce41af06eb7&displaylang=en

I have used it and i find it very good for external harddisks and so
on.. i use it like a sort of backup into a large harddrive but also to
network drives..

Hi Alf,

thanks for your answer. I have tested this tool already some weeks ago,
but this tool requires that all computers are running and the
Syncback-Tool (see answer above in this thread) works also with
ftp-servers. Thats a great advantage!

Regards and have a nice day!

FTP because?

Synching 2 XP computers can be done by XP, without the need of an FTP
server.
