Search Tool for Word 2007

We upgraded from Word 2003 to Word 2007, and we cannot find a Search tool in
Word 2007. In 2003, the Search tool was located in the Open File dialog box,
under Tools. Does Word 2007 still have this feature?

Thanks.

No, the search feature has been dropped from Office 2007, replaced by
Windows Search.

You can still search in the File/Open dialog box. Type your search
string or file name in the search box in the upper right corner. You
can narrow the search by specific folder by first selecting the folder
in the left pane.

But that search box appears only if you're running on Windows Vista. If you run
Office 2007 on Windows XP, there is no search box in the Open dialog.

However, the Windows Search in either Windows version is easy to start by
pressing Windows Key + F.

Thanks for confirming the search box is only on a Vista machine, Jay.
It sure would help if posters would always specify their version of
Word and Windows when asking questions. :)
