Find/Replace Tool

I'm creating a catalog of books in my house... we have a lot. Anyway, I want
to be able to search for certain terms, titles, authors, location, etc. and I
know you can do that in Word 2003 however I can't find it in the 2007
version.

Where is the Find tool in Word 2007?

Also can one do this kind of search in Excel?

If you mean the file search function, then that has been removed from Word
2007 to be provided by Windows Vista. If you are running Windows XP, you can
use the file search in Windows Explorer.

M cubed: As you have seen from the other postings, Find is still available in
2007.
I will answer the Excel part of your posting: Yes you can AND more.
If the catalogue is going to be large then personally I would have this in
Excel from the start, as you will have greater functionality when doing
searches, such as the Filter function to name but one.
You will also be able to do other reporting, such as "how many books do I
have by author...?", etc.
All the best
