Search Subfolders does not work in advanced find 2003

P

PaulCovi

I am using Outlook 2003 on Win XPsp3. I needed to find some older emails and
went to advanced find to make certain under Browse button that "Search
Subfolders" was ticked and it was.

However, regardless as to whether or not "Search Subfolders" is ticked, the
search ONLY occurs on the primary folder.

I have used this many times in the past and don't know why it isn't working.
I don't recall when ticking "search subfolders" whether when one physically
sees all of the subfolders ticked but this isn't happening. If I want to
search my hundreds of subfolders I have to manually tick each one of them.

Please help

Are you selecting the parent folder?

I have noticed that Outlook defaults to the current folder, so the parent
would not be selected by default if it is not your current folder when you
click Browse.
