Whenever I try to use the search function I and the file(s) I am looking for
come up I get a not responding message followed by message that Windows
explorer has experience and error and is shutting down. This same thing
happens if I try searching with Windows Explorer.

Does anybody have any answers?

Took your suggestion for Kellys Korner but the the problem is not ith the
search assistant. If i search for a file or files and they come up and I right
click to delete them thats when the problem occurrs. If the list contains
many files it may just freeze in the middle and come back with the
aformentioned messages.

Please advise any other ideas.
Thanks

Hello,
I do not use the MS Windows search function.
Have and do use "Agent Ransack", a free program.

Perhaps you would like to research this product and see if it is of use for
your search functions.
take care.
