Search function doesn't work on start menu

All of a sudden when I click on search nothing happens.But
if I go to my computer and click on the hard drive I can
search there.Does this sound like a virus? My son was
searching on the internet right before that and we started
getting search space as our home page default. Any help
would be appreciated.

Hi Bill,

Click Start | Run and type in the following command one by one

REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI
REGSVR32 /i SHELL32
