Search for a new Graphics Card.

Hi all,

Im looking to upgrade my graphics card to a more up to date one however im a little overwelmed on what i should be looking for.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Current set up,

Acer Aspire M5100
Windows Vist 32 Home Premium
AMD Phenom x4 9500 2200 MHz
Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS 256
4 Gig of ddr2 ram
520 watt psu (i have just upgraded this from the stock 250watt)
AVG free anti
Adaware

Im looking to spend upto a maxium of £150.

If you need any more info please feel free to ask.

That model appears to be supplied with integrated ATI graphics so it's likely the Nvidia 8400 has been added at some stage.

I prefer Nvidia at the moment but that's just my personal choice, both makes are good, imo.

Acers site says your PC is a PCI-E motherboard.

For that budget, its gotta be an ATi 5830 or an Nvidia 460 (768mb)

What PSU is it out of interest??

Its an cooler master extreme power 500w (low budget power supply i think)

Just had a look at the cards, will they be compatiable with my system?

I only have one Pci express 6 pin connector on the psu, will that be enough?

It also says it is Pci express 2.0, will this work on my motherboard as i think mine is 1.0?
