How the hell does one get the "search for files"
containing text to work as it used to in W2K and earlier.
I am about to revert the entire office to W2K since we
cannot make this work.
We are a software house! I personally have 26 years of
programming experience. I use "search" to search through
the 100's of source files to find Table names if I change
a layout. It works perfectly in W2K but it is useless in XP
Any clues please?
At present it simply returns nil results
(If it even manages to complete the search without getting
stuck in a zip file)
It cant even locate a text file containing the word 30
times and named with the word!

Don't know the answer, but I do know the solution. Bag the builtin search and
use AgentRansack. It's free from www.agentransack.com. There's also a shareware
version called FileLocatorPro with even more features that can be integrated
into XP to replace the builtin crap.
