Question about search engine difference between Xp and W2k

Hi
I have a question about the search engines in W2K & XP
if i do a key word search in W2K it will correctly search Adobe PDF files
and recognise the correct key words
if i do exactly the same search in XP (Professional , Home , with or without
Servicepack XP , XP SP1, XP SP2
does anyone know if microsoft removed support for searching PDF files in Xp
?
