Search Component not displaying

I am using FP2002. I have indexing activated on my II6 server running WIn
2003.

I created a very simple search page by using insert>web component>search.

When I publish the page and look at it in the live web I get the dreaded
[FrontPage Search Component]

Any clues?

Why are you publishing the page, you should be developing the page under the web server via http to
start with if this your local server.

I generally always develop my web pages in a development web site and then
publish from there to production. I do that on all pages except those with
SQL queries.

Is this just one that has be be developed right in production?

Not really, but it is good way to see if publishing is causing it to not work.

Did you also create an Index Catalog on the production live site that you are publishing to?
