Trouble with Search page

D

Dan

I'm publishing a Front Page 2003 web to a Windows 2003 Web Edition Server
with Front Page Server Extensions 2002 installed. I tried creating a Search
page from the FP2003 search page template. I published the search page. I
then tested it, but I get the following error:

"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page

"You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web
server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

"This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish
this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions
installed."

I do have FrontPage Server extensions installed. How can I troubleshoot a
component that's not working?

Under IIS 6.0 with Windows 2003, all searching must be done in conjunction
with Index Server. Index Server is not automatically available for each
virtual site on a server, but must be configured manually via catalogs, and
directories included in each catalog.

You need to contact your host about this.

Did you test the search page on the version of your
website that is on your host's server (as opposed to the
version of the web that is on your PC)?

Dan

I am hosting the web server.

I am hosting the server. In IIS 6, under Indexing Service, then under Web,
then under Directories, the directory of the web site is set up.

Okay. Extensions may be installed, but have you actually configured them
for the web site?
