Search Bars not uninstalling

Hi all,

I have a search bar on my IE 6.0 and even after I
uninstalled it through Add/Remove, it still appears
everytime i launch IE. The worse thing is that it is
popping up pop up ads.

I understand there is a way to unregister it or kill it?
Anyone have any ideas? Any registry way to kill it?

Thanks in advance.

I feel your pain. I was in your situation only a few days
ago. I did everything that everyone said to. I updated my
virus definitions. I installed software that detects and
eliminates spyware as well as adware. And, I cleaned
everything - my cache files, temp internet files,
history, registry, etc. But, the darn search engine that
hijacked my browser was STILL there. So, I simply e-
mailed that search engine and told them to tell me how to
get rid of them since I never set them as my default
browser. After a couple of days, I got a reply to my e-
mai. It was a link for their uninstaller. Now, no more
unwanted search engine and no more annoying pop-ups and
pop-unders . . . Internet bliss once again.

Hi Alvin,

First option is to run Ad-Aware scan (www.lavasoftusa.com). If the toolbar
entries are not removed:
download ToolbarCop:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/ToolbarCop.exe

ToolbarCop removes the Toolbars, Toolbar buttons and unwanted
menu-extensions from Internet Explorer. It does not remove the spyware from
the system entirely. It is advisable to run Ad-Aware scan
(www.lavasoftusa.com), if the toolbar entries are not removed.
