SD Card

Hi, I've been using a 512MB SD card successfully, taking pictures and viewing
them on my computer by inserting the SD card in the multimedia slot. I
recently got a 2GB card, but I can't get to the photos that I've taken with
it. When I insert it into the multimedia slot, no drive appears for
removable media, like it does automatically for the 512MB card. Was I
supposed to have formatted the 2GB card? I appreciate your advice!

Is is possible that your reader is not
compatible with a 2 GB card?

Did you try connecting the camera via
USB to see if you could download that
way?

I also just bought a 2G SD card and tried to download photos. I got a log of
jibberish as names of files, no photos, and an error message that says I
can't rename or delete these folders. First of all I'm wondering how to
delete the non-usable files, and next I want to know if I can use this card
for photos which is why I bought it.

....Check your documentation...

Did you try connecting the camera via
USB to see if you could download that
way? (this would bypass the card reader)

If you have important photos on the
memory card...I would suggest that
you do not delete anything until
they are safely downloaded. If the
files are just test shots...I would say
go ahead and format the card inside
the camera.
