Scrolling is choppy and takes forever. Please help!

Hello,
I have windows XP. Starting last night, whenever I scroll up and
down (on firefox, or otherwise) it is all slow and choppy. It didn't
used to do this, though. I did uncheck smooth scrolling on my firefox
browser and that speeds it up a little bit, but it is still not like it
used to be. It does the same thing on any program. Another thing is
that I don't have my standby option anymore, but I don't know if that
is related.

Yesterday I went through my add or remove programs list,
uninstalling games and stuff that I don't use anymore, and maybe I
deleted something I shouldn't have. Does anybody know what's wrong?

Help would be appreciated.

THANKS

Your video adapter drivers probably need to be reinstalled.
Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of your video
card adapter and download the latest drivers.

Before installing them, uninstall the old drivers. In your
Control Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs applet
and look for your video drivers to uninstall.

If you happen to have a notebook computer, visit the notebook
manufacturer's support website to download the correct video
adapter drivers for your specific notebook model.

After installing a fresh set of drivers, right-click on your
desktop and select Properties > Settings, change the Color
Quality to "Highest (32 bit), then adjust your Screen Resolution
to your liking, then click on Apply.

If you are scrolling with the 3rd mouse button that could also be a problem
with the mouse

How much space is left on C:?

Perhaps you need to do a cleanup, or delete all your temporary Internet
cache files.
