Scroll Speed

B

Bob Taylor

This may be solved by a simple adjustment. The screen
scrolls too fast relative to the position of the mouse.
I use both a spreadsheet and word processor and sometimes
need to highlight more area than is on the screen. The
way I do this is to click and hold the left mouse button
and move the pointer to the bottom, top, left, or right
of the screen. Then the area on the screen begins to
scroll. But it scrolls too fast. In the spreadsheet for
example if I click and hold on a cell then move the
pointer to the bottom of the sheet it begins to slowly
scroll. Then if I move the pointer one eighth of an inch
below the bottom of the sheet, it starts to scroll so
fast that it's 300 rows down before I can stop it. How
do I slow it down a little bit? I'd like the movement of
the mouse to have a lesser effect on the scroll speed.

Bob,

Go to Start, Control Panel, and Mouse. Go to the Button tab for the
scroll function and the Motion tab for the cursor speed.
