I have a user who said that before we reintalled his OS that he did not have
to click on a control before using the wheel on his mouse. I have checked
the mouse setup in control panel and did not find any setting relating to
this. Is this functionality possible or is he mistaken?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "click on a control" before using the
scroll wheel. Usually you don't have to click on anything to use the
scroll wheel. Since you reinstalled his os, perhaps you forgot to
install any specific mouse drivers.

Unless you mean click on the scroll wheel to lock it in place then move your
mouse, which will intern scroll up and down the screen. Does the sroll
button on the mouse work now? If so, just press it it and a wheel ball will
appear on the screen.

Good luck.
