Script to remotely install a local printer using tcp/ip

Mark

I am looking for a way to create a batch file or a VB
script file to automatically install network printers by
creating a TCP/IP port. My printers are directly
connected to the network (no print server). I want to
create a batch file that will create the port and install
a printer when run. All clients are Windows 2000 systems.

So, you want to install local queues on remote w2k machines. Have a look at
the prnadmin tool in the Resource Kit.This is a collection of COM objects
and there are also a few VBS samples that you can use. prnadmin can add
queues, drivers and Standard TCP/IP ports remotely.
