Script Error Question

I'm new here, so I apologize in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong
forum. I didn't know which one exactly to put it in in regards to my problem.

Anyway, the other day, on my home computer, I was in the process of removing
some old programs through Add/Remove Programs when my computer froze. I
managed to restart it, but now, every time my computer boots, I get a message
that says 'Microsoft Internet Explore Script Error: 29 - Unspecified error.'
Because of this error, my Norton Antivirus program will no longer run, even
after uninstalling and reinstalling it (as suggested by their website).
Also, when I go online, I'm unable to click or access 'fill-in' boxes, which
means I can no longer log in to check my e-mail or fill out forms online. I
can also no longer access 'Add/Remove Programs' from the Control Panel.

I have a Compaq Presario 1525 and I'm currently running Windows 2000
Professional Edition. If there's anyone out there who can help me fix this
problem, it would definitely be appreciated!

Thank you very much in advance!

Sorry, have to make a correction. I put the wrong model number... I have a
Compaq Presario 5030. If there's anyone out there trying to help me, please
give me a buzz! Thanks!
