Screensaver will not start

Guest

After loading a "fresh install" (From Formatted Drive) of XP Pro my
screensaver does not want to start up. I have run scripts from kelly's-korner
to enable the screensaver, tried reselecting the power scheme and restarting,
tried reloading my graphic drivers. This problem has only just started over
the last 3 weeks.
Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Daryl,

Added info:

It may be being set to None. Check your setting for the screensavers path.

Here are some examples:

Marine Aquarium 2.scr > rename it to > MarineAquarium2.scr

In the registry, screensaver will work correctly if it is listed as so:
c:\windows\system32\marine~1.scr

Screen Savers do not work correctly if listed as so:
""c:\windows\system32\marine aquarium 2.scr""

Thanks, Kelly,

I have checked the paths in the registry and all look to be fine. I have
also checked the MS link you supplied (Article 326719) and none of the
symptom conditions exist.

This is driving me nuts as I know it should just work out of the box. Any
other ideas would be great.

Kind Regards,
Daryl

"Out of the box" meaning that no other programs (apart from video driver) are
loaded that might affect the OS. By the way I am using an ATI 9200SE Radeon
Video Card and have tried reinstalling windows using both the ASUS driver and
the ATI driverif that helps with a solution.

If it runs in testing but fails to run on the timer, you have something
else "keeping the computer busy". If the screensaver won't run in
testing then you have a display issue. So please look at which problem
is what you have.
