Screensaver does not work, tried all the solutions posted

I have Win XP Pro at work and the screensaver stopped working months ago,
however, been too busy to do any real troubleshooting. I have read all the
posts and none of those things work. I do not have a wireless mouse,
changing optical mouse from USB to PS2 does not fix it, my registry settings
are all correct, my power settings are all set - don't know what else to try.
I notice there are 2-3 others that are having the same problems - anybody
out there gotten any further with the troubleshooting? Any help is welcome
and appreciated

Make sure you don't have anything running in the background that could stop the screensaver from
coming on.
