Screen whites are pink

I had no sound, so I went back to an earlier marked point. which was that
morning before I lost sound. I managed to get my sound back, but now my
monitor has pink instead of white for its colors. My drivers are all the
same when it was working fine and rebooting hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Usually indicates a bad connection. Check the signal cable to the
monitor connection and that the video card is seated in the slot.

This is a classic sign of a failing monitor or video card (usually the
former). The way to troubleshoot it:

1. First check that the cable going from the monitor to the computer is
snug with no bent or broken pins.

2. Attach the computer to a different monitor. If the display is good,
you know your original monitor is toast. Replace it.

3. If the problem travels with your computer, you know the video card is
bad. Replace it.

This computer is a laptop on a docking station. Both the monitor and the
laptop video is this pink color. So that would rule out the monitor. This
happened a long time ago and it suddenly didappeared. Now it is back. It
seems strange that it was fine except for the sound, until I hit the restore
pt. then the screen did its color change. I am perplexed in that I lost sound
to start with. This happened once before and I found a fix that had me go
into the Regedit. I could not find that fix this time. This started after my
wife loaded a childs game for my grandson. So I went to a restore pt that
morning and sound is fixed, but the screen color is now pink. It may be the
video board on the laptop, but it seems too coincidental that it happened
when going to a restore pt.

Boot it Safe mode with Base Video, that will run it without your 3rd
party video driver. See if the coloration is normal or still pink. If' it's
OK, then somehow the driver is responsible.

This is a perfect example of why it is more useful to give all pertinent
information in the first post. Reinstall your video card drivers. Get
them from the laptop mftr.'s website for your specific model.
